A study launched by University of Singapore chemist Khang Wei Ong suggests that the acid can be used to help diabetics manage their condition, as it acts to slow the transformation of starches into sugars. And Dr. Vinson did further research which he presented to colleagues in April of 2013 at the 245th National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS) in New Orleans. In his presentation he suggested that chlorogenic acid be involved in the treatment and prevention of Type 2 diabetes.
